Ween Privacy Policy

Overview
Ween helps people coordinate plans, share moments, save places, and see friend activity on a map. We use data only to operate, secure, and improve the app. We do not sell personal data and we do not use third-party advertising tracking.
Data We Collect
Account data may include your Apple Sign In identifier, name, email address, profile details, settings, device/session records, and support requests.
App content may include moments, captions, photos or videos you choose to upload, saved places, plans, RSVPs, friend relationships, reports, and other actions you take in Ween.
Optional location permission can provide precise or coarse location for nearby places, moment context, and live location sharing. Live location sharing is off by default and only starts when you choose to share your location with accepted Ween friends.
Optional contacts sync can help friend discovery. When enabled, Ween reads email addresses and phone numbers from contacts you allow, normalizes them on your device, and uploads only SHA-256 hashes plus the contact type. We do not upload or store raw contact names, raw phone numbers, raw email addresses, notes, labels, addresses, photos, or device contact identifiers.
Optional permissions can also provide calendar access for adding plans to your device calendar, photos or camera access for posts, and push notification tokens for alerts.
We may collect product interaction and diagnostic data such as API requests, feature usage, error logs, and security events to keep Ween reliable and safe.
How We Use Data
We use data to provide core app features, authenticate users, show relevant map and feed content, deliver notifications, sync user settings, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and improve app quality.
Location, contacts, calendar, photos, camera, and notifications are requested through Apple system prompts only when needed for the related feature or from Settings. You can change permission access in iOS Settings.
You can decline contacts sync or live location sharing and still use Ween. You can turn contacts sync and live location sharing off from Ween Settings.
Sharing and Retention
Moments may be public, friends-only, or private depending on the visibility you choose and your account privacy settings. Public-account moments can be visible publicly; private-account and friends-only moments are limited by Ween's privacy and relationship rules.
Live map location is visible only to accepted Ween friends while live location sharing is on. Blocked or hidden users cannot see your live location. Turning live location sharing off removes your live map location.
Turning contacts sync off marks synced contact hashes inactive and stops using them for friend discovery.
We keep data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain security. You can delete your account from Ween Settings.
